Change Your Mindset, Change Your Life

How often have you told yourself, “That’s it I’ve had it, I’m going on a diet” or “I really need to start working out”. And maybe you do go on a diet or start working out, but often this is a short-lived journey.  The key to achieving any kind of real, lasting results is changing the way you think.  This is easily the most important part to any fitness journey.

When you think about your next meal instead of dreaming about a big juicy cheese burger, think about the feeling you will get when you walk into a room and everyone is thinking, “WOW he/she looks amazing!”.  Every decision that you make both positive and negative brings you further or closer to your goals, changing the way you think is the only way to change your life!

Commit To a Timeline

Putting a timeline on your commitment makes it more realistic and attainable.  An example would be “I am going to do 20 minutes of cardio, 5 days a week for 4 weeks”.  This says that you are committing to doing 20, 20 minute cardio sessions over the next 4 weeks.  This is now a real timeline that has some flexibility and that is easily executed on.  A simple lifestyle change like this will get you into a routine and will allow you to see real results without the ambiguity of a statement like, “That’s it, I’m going to start working out”.

Getting Started is the Hardest Part

The hardest part of any fitness journey is getting started.  Whether its signing up for the gym membership, investing in a new pair of running shoes, or simply writing down your goals and throwing out all the junk food in your house, taking this first step is the most important part of your journey.  No matter how small the step, as long as its in the right direction it is bringing you one step closer to your goals!

“No matter how slow you go, you are lapping everybody on the couch!”

Consistency is KEY!

Being consistent in your commitments is crucial to your success! Even a small lifestyle change can make a HUGE difference in your health if you are consistent day in and day out.  Change your Mind, Commit to a Timeline, and Get Started!

Now get a pen and paper and get writing! It’s time for you to make a lifestyle change for the better!
